Hi,

I'm doing some tests with Clipfinder to conform a timeline in FCP with both 2K and 4K clips, all rendered to 2K prores with L&T, and with a lot of scaling and reframing done. The idea is to do grading in Color, linked to the proxies, and to preserve the scales and reframings.

The question is which proxy should I link to? H or F?
If linking to H, do the 2K-files render also in half resolution and become 1K?
If I link to F, how do I re-frame effectively all the 4K clips, which is the majority of the project?

Thanks,
Timo

Doesn't matter at all which proxy you use, as Color ends up by passing the proxy and going back to the RAW R3D files.

Thanks,

I'm also concerned about scaling information and how it is preserved between Clipfinder/Final Cut/Color. 4K scale correctly in Final Cut/Color when using H-proxies, but with 2K-clips on the same timeline you have to re-scale them in Color. Is there a way to preserve their scaling/other motion tab information?

Thanks,
Timo

The geometry room in color is where you will do all the scaling from the 4k r3d data.
