  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Compression Woes

Hey Arthur was that shot with your Lomos? It looks really nice.

Hey Will! Didn't realize you were on here. Thanks for the comment -this was shot on a combination of lenses.

We had a lot of locations to hit up during the day so we shot w/ the Tokina 11-16, Canon 24-105 for all the city shots - tons of run n gun and candids w/o time to change lenses. For the night shots, we shot w/ Canon 24mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.2

I recently discovered an issue w/ a couple of my lomos before this shoot which I need to get serviced so they're sitting in a case waiting for that day to happen! Have you shot anything on yours yet?

I havn't tried it for a long time, but if you're willing to fiddle around a bit there might be a solution to encode directly to x264/x265 and maybe even vp9 out of premiere. And the best thing is, its free.

Have a look at the second part of this tutorial: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/FFmpegPremierePro

It should work with all encoders that take AVS as input, not just FFMPEG.
