I have a client pitch to make and part of it is telling their history (which goes back quite a bit.) Was thinking of producing something where we replicated in 3d what their location might have looked like a long time ago and composited people into the shots. I don't know if I'd be going for something 100% realistic, it would probably be more surreal. Anyways, I know some animators capable of it but I'm trying to find any samples online that might be similar to what I'm thinking. I'm sure I've seen this before but don't know of anything off hand. Have you seen any similar videos that might use this concept, historical or not?

There's too many examples to count, without it being narrowed a bit with a few story boards(About every HBO/showtime movie does what your talking about).

From a cost viewpoint, it's important to review the clients physical assets you'll have - especially if their are a few angles/locations that the shoot can be done from, then the "historical" can be composited around this. Otherwise you have to go full green screen, which normally really bumps the cost while lowering the quality (unless physical foreground sets are built). I'd consult with a vfx supervisor after you did some scouting photographs (of the current location) and a few story boards.
