RICHTER CINE Autocollimator System - Burbank CA, USA
I am offering a complete Richter Cine Autocollimator System, rebuilt and precision calibrated (see photos below). The system has been completely reconditioned and upgraded as described on my website. It is priced at a fraction of what new autocollimator systems (Chrosziel, Gecko-Cam, Duclos) are being sold for today. The package consists of:
Complete Richter Cine Autocollimator System
◦ Richter Cine R2 Autocollimator Block, rebuilt with CinemaTechnic upgrades
◦ Richter Cine 60mm Collimator Objective
◦ Richter Cine 130mm Collimator Objective
◦ Richter Cine 180mm Collimator Objective
◦ Richter Cine 254mm or 275mm Collimator Objective (buyer's choice)
◦ CinemaTechnic Fiber Optic Light Guide Adapter for R2 Autocollimator
◦ Richter Cine ARRI PL Lens Mount
◦ Custom Canon EF Lens Mount (CinemaTechnic) for Richter Cine
◦ Richer M2M Focal Plane Micrometer with Starret 468M micrometer head, .002mm accuracy, with new reflector and CinemaTechnic upgrade for easy zeroing
◦ Richter Model B Optical Lens Test Bench with 36" rods
◦ Richter Cine Lens Support for OTB
◦ Halogen Fiber-Optic Illuminator with adjustable intensity, fiber-optic light guide.
◦ Set of instructions
◦ Calibration warranted for 1 year
◦ Phone/email tech support for 30 days included, one-on-one training available at additional cost
Complete system as above: $8249.- USD
Upgrades available at additional cost:
Compare to Duclos Lenses collimator system at $19,695.- or Gecko-Cam's collimator system at € 31,700.- (currently $41,158.- plus shipping from Germany).
This precision instrument has been completely rebuilt, upgraded and calibrated (by me). Final adjustments were made using high end test equipment (Moeller-Wedel focus and alignment autocollimators). The reconditioning and calibration process is very labor-intensive.
Repeatability is within .003 mm when tested with my reference test lens (an iBE Null Lens that was calibrated on a Zeiss K9 MTF tester the same day the K9 was calibrated by Zeiss' technician). A properly trained user can match the practical accuracy of the Chrosziel, Gecko-Cam and Moeller-Wedel (Duclos) collimators when operated properly.
Keep in mind: The "youngest" Richter Cine units out there are 20 years old (the company shut down in 1998) and the oldest are nearly 60 years old. A lot of the units out there are quite worn and have lost all accuracy. If you just buy the cheapest unit you can get off fleaBay, you could be setting a lot of cameras and lenses to the wrong focus setting.
I am offering the basic system intended as a relatively low-cost way for a user to get started, without taking the risk on out-of-calibration / damaged old equipment. The basic system is suited for calibrating Flange Focal Distance (FFD) on digital cine cameras and spot-checking lenses.
The Richter R2 along with a modified iBE Null is ideal for accurately setting FFD on RED cameras (thanks to their infinitely variable FFD adjustment). I have new modified iBE Null lenses available.
TERMS: Cash or bank wire transfer. Company checks from established firms can be accepted but may require a delay for clearance. Shipping at buyer's option and expense. Set-up and training available.
