Red Scarlet has been compared with Canon C 300.
Why not compare it with Panasonic AG HPX 250 & AG AF 100 as well ?

You can compare anything to anything else, but it most likely won't be that meaningful to compare camera systems with S35 5.6u, m4/3 4.3u, and 1/3" 2u sensors to one another. The AF100 employs a very different scanning and downscaling method than most other cameras so it would be quite difficult to compare, and the HPX 250 and scarlet also use completely different methods. You could take a fixed set of criteria and compare them for yourself on certain features, but they are distinctly different enough in feature-set that anyone who knows what they want in a camera should clearly be able to choose one over the other without even picking any of them up.

If you want great digital cinema level sharpness and latitude and 12-16bit raw recording, you want scarlet. if you want lower cost and can cope with less latitude, less resolution, more aliasing, harsh video gamma and high compression but still want a bigger sensor then you might consider the AF100. If you you dont care about the bigger sensor and want an all purpose video zoom lens, then youd consider the HPX 250.

For my purposes there would be no comparison since a Scarlet's image quality is clearly far beyond what either of those cameras could produce. Personally I avoid Panasonic prosumer video cameras (especially AF100) because of their horrible gamma curves which I have found to be nearly unusable unless you want harsh blow outs and poor latitude. In my mind the only cameras I'd generally consider are:

ALEXA/EPIC>SCARLET>F3/C300?>FS100>5DMK2/GH2

Depending on budget level.

Well hows about this...

Compare them on a cinema screen...because if your going to do these tests and then post them on the web...to be honest, you'll get the same results and same answers from everyone

'they look equally as good'. So on the big screen...nice and large. similar test scenarios. Finishing in the maximum resolution for each camera. Throw in a bit of 35mm or 16mm in there and you have yourself a very good comparison I'd say...

But again, price points, different markets.

Thanks Mr.Noah Yuan-Vogel for enlightening on some of the aspects of the cameras.
