  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone here doing shoots with decent budgets with the beta version?

Just curious.

Just finished a good budget 2 day spot in Florida. Jib work, dolly, hi speed and 23.98 frame rates. No problems just happy clients looking at playback. Redmote froze once but a reboot solved that. Only wish I could have Bomb EVF and 5" touch LCD working at same time . Camera needs a reboot if you change cable to either LCD or EVF. In time I know I will get my wish.

Oh yes and all on Build 2.05

Three (one-day)shoots on 2.0.5, no problems. Clients wanted quick playback, and I had it for them. No more, "Just a sec, gotta play this from the laptop". Life is good.

made 2 projects.
Only when I used HDR menu has stopped, but immediately made a reboot and everything ok.

I've used it on two projects. Worked well but for some reason after the second project the camera decided to change the tint present so everything was looking magenta. I reinstalled the FW ans all is good again.

One respectable budget 3-day shoot for me with EPIC-M and v2.0.5. Went off without a hitch!

Just shot a spot for a "billion dollar campaign" (i.e. a spot that's hoping to be used to raise a billion dollars, the actual budget for the spot was slightly less :) Performed wonderfully. Only one glitch - hit record once while zoomed in and image on LCD was glitchy. Actual footage recorded was fine.

Shot 2 TVC´s without a problem, we shot 25fps, 100fps, HDRx 2 days in a row , not a single reboot or any other strange behavior :)

Great to hear!!! Thanks guys.. Doing a shoot in NEW O, at the Superdome with some big names and would love to use 2.0.5..

We will use it and just keep our eyes out..

Thanks again for all the responses!

I´m in the begining of a long(ish) shoot and had already done 2 days with our Epic-M with the release build a month ago. A lot of long takes involved on Steadicam, and it was a pain not to be able to view the takes on set.
Yesterday I was prepping for 2 more days of the same and after reading this thread I decided to give 2.0.5 a go.
I was a bit nervous, but I soon forgot I was on a beta build when we started to review the long Steadicam takes. I had zero issues all day today and I´m already looking forward to tomorrow.
It was pure joy to see the crew and talent watch 120fps shots playback on the monitor.

Thank you guys for giving me the confidence to go with the 2.0.5. I´m not looking back and I can spend the money intended for an Atomos on other stuff
