Colour Space and File Format Conversion

Not directly RED related as such, but if you need to convert the Colour Space/File Format of images files the Light Illusion 3D LUT Builder now has these options, including converting from standard colour spaces (Rec709, DCI P3, XYX) as well as user definable custom formats.

The software can generate LUTs for colour space conversion, or can batch process files itself, combining this with file format conversion if necessary.

It can also resize and 'enhance' (sharpen) images during processing.

Obviously the LUT Builder can make LUTs, and can also import existing LUTs for conversion to other formats, or for changes to be applied to the existing LUT (less red in the blacks for example).

I did my bit of testing on Red build17 over the last couple of days...I start shooting in three days from now.

The issue I need to crack to make my decisions:

When I see the test in the FCP[& that is the only platform available to me as the producer is still setting up his 'Grading' suite] most of it looks like a little over 1/2 stop under exposed. While during shoot...according to the meter, the EVF and the 9" inch Panasonic LCD everything just looks great!

The FCP is essentially using two apple monitors and a bigger samsang LCD as Display. I need to figure out the fastest way to see the Grey card "Grey" the way I see it while shooting! Should I just colour correct using fcp video filters and then gauge exposure?

Simple and quick answer (it's near my bed-time) is use a LUT to set the output image correctly.
