Good afternoon,

I was wondering how 'Camera' and 'Export' colorspace settings apply to quicktime proxies?

When I use RED Alert or RED line, I can set most parameters (saturation, temp, etc...) via the tools and the quicktime proxies will reflect the change once they're regenerated.

However, I can't seem to change the export colorspace of quicktime proxies. Is there a way to set the colorspace (709, REDspace) that's displayed in RED quicktime proxies?

Or is this a known limitation?

Thank you.

Motumbo.

Motumbo,

Only a portion of the metadata options in Redcine are expressed in the quicktime reference files. I'm not sure the complete list but I believe codec does not express:

Color Space
Output LUT
DRX
Chroma Denoise/De-Moire
Debayer Detail
OLPF Compensation
Curves

Correct me if I'm wrong or missing something.

This is important to understand because the quicktime references are never going to get you to the full control and quality of the image you shot. To do that you need to return to raw data at some point in your workflow and bypass quicktime altogether if you can.
