What will the different Scarlets be able to capture/output color?

Well, if you're going by 12 bit color vs. 16 bit color, that would be something along the lines of 68 billion colors for the 2/3 and S35 sensor vs. 281 trillion colors for the FF35 sensor. Or something like that. Not sure how helpful that is.

16 bit has nothing to do with colour on scarlet or epic , its the analog to digital conversion sampling just like CD's use a 16bit sampling but you can also get 24bit sampling

Figured something like that might be the case, but those were the only numbers I could come up with. Not sure quite how to answer the question otherwise. Any thoughts?

I think what he wants to know what the color sampling of Scarlet is.

its not all that simple to explain because you can't apply the usual 4:4:4 with bayer pattern sensors and systems. what you should know is that nobody is complaining about the level of colour that red sensors can get so I wouldn't worry about it. it'll be way more than anything you could ever want. 5k scarlet will easily give you a good full colour 4k RGB output
