HI guys, if I record just in pro res (Scarlet W) which are the best setting for red gamma etc... etc....? As I understand they only affects the raw files and not the pro res...but still I suppose I need to give a color setting to pro res???
Thanks
Luca

nothing effects the actual raw, those choices are for a default LUT to pop up when the file is viewed in redcine, but can be changed.
if you shoot prores ONLY, redgamma4 will bake in that look to the prores, which is quite nice, i did it for a client that was never going to color.
if you want a flat look to definitely color correct in post, then choose the log option, i think it says redlogfilm or something like that.
do tests!

If you want a look baked in to your ProRes files but still have some room in post to dial in the final look I find REDgamma2 is a nice starting point to get the nice colors from the Red Hamas but not have so much contrast baked in. It's a mid-way between RedLogFilm and REDGamma4. Give it a try in some test shots.

So, just to sum this in what should be all the settings for each choice?
Thanks

Video Source: Graded??
Color Space:Dragon Color 2??
Graded Gamma Space: Redgamma2??

yes, but the last one is your own preference. either log or an added gamma curve, up to you.

Shoot some tests first. But I think DragonColor and RedLogFilm work fine for ProRes most of the time for color. If it's dailies delivery, then DragonColor and DragonGamma (or RedGamma4). I haven't experimented enough with RedGamma2 to know if it can work, but Kris Tait's advice above makes sense. I would do a test and see for yourself.
