Hi, I have a complex grade utilizing the COLOR FX Room. I have my grade saved and am ready to render. Once I hit the render button, I lose part of my COLOR FX on the grade. It is there, it just won't render. Also, when Color auto saves or if I save, the Color FX Room REVERTS to a different level in the node tree. same as when I try to render. Has anybody come by this issue? Is there a fix or work around besides not using, because I have pretty much stopped using the COLOR FX Room for this reason. I am referencing the R3D files. I have RED color plug in 4.4. running Color 1.5.3. Thanks in advance for any help.

To be perfectly honest, CFX is *broken* you can do some very cool stuff with it, but I've had it fail to render FX nodes, or render them wrong, more often than not.

Case in point: A recent project had a dream sequence that I built a very nice looking defocus vignette. Looked fine in every preview, but when rendered out, it blurred the *entire* image. Go figure.

Maybe using ProRes helps, I've never seen such troubles with it, while R3Ds can be a problem even in the secondaries. Wake up, Apple!

Well I seem to have some success now. I am not very knowledgeable in nodes, but I did find a work around. I found I had some outputs in my nodes that were not needed (the first attached image) So I simplified the tree and took them out(second attached image). This seemed to work. not sure this helps for future, Or the Color Gods are playing a meant rick on me.

Could be a little of both. Color seems a bit capricious as to when it's going to work and when it's not.

Uli raises a valid point. I've never had problems with CFX or Secondaries when using non-R3D media. So that could be the root of the issue.
