Color crashes on importing FCP XML

Hi all,

I am really frustrated because of Color is crashing already, when I want to import the FCP XML.

The workflow was:

1. Converting *.r3d to Prores QT (1920x1080 25fps) using Clipfinder
2. edit in FCP 3
3. export xml from fcp
4. conform QT's to H_Proxies using clipfinder
5. import conformed xml into color


The Loading Screen appears, but after 1-4 files (short pop-ups) Color crashes...

Tried different xml's with different clips but it seems to me that it is the count of clips i wan to to send to color (8min timeline with 120 clips), which forces it to crash.

I had this same problem yesterday (slightly different workflow but the same final step and the same import crashes).

What worked for me was copying all of the media onto my fastest Raid - it was spread around on various eSATA 7 firewire 800 drives before. Then the project loaded up fine....

hm ok, I have all my RAW files on a intern sata hdd no raid.
But I tried to conform directly to the r3d's and that worked out for the most files but the ones, which got splitted at 2gb limit where imposssible to connect in color.


Now it works but only using an EDL not a XML

To fix the looping bug in Color run ColorFixer (http://www.daun.ch/software/) on your Color project.

I know about the looping bug, but thats not the problem. Althoug I got the edit to color via an EDL there are some timecode issues

After you conform to the _H proxies import the XML back into FCP. Then use send to color.

This results also in a crash of color...

Color started crashing on me with snow leopard and build 21...no solution so far
