Slightly off at a tangent, but I often think the look we attribute to certain Directors or DPs comes down on some occasions to differing levels of colour blindness.

That's a valid point. Even the word "colorblind" is biased since virtually all who are can see some degree of color. Truth be told, we are all colorblind to some degree.
