I‘ve just upgraded to FCP 7 and Color 1.5. When I open a new FCP project, log and transfer REDCODE media, using the workflow transcoding to ProRes HQ or 4444 and then send files from FCP to Color the RED Image Controls in Color are not enabled and I find now way to turn on the „Enabled-Button“. I‘ve tried the same workflow with an old FCP project but opened and converted in FCP 7 and everything works fine.

Any ideas what I‘m doing wrong?

Remember this only works on proxy derived or transcoded to native-wrapped projects sent from FCP. For projects transcoded to Prores you have to use Clipfinder or CinemaTools to redirect Color to utilize your R3D files. Otherwise, the native RED metadata tab will not be enabled.

Thanks Noah. But why does the same workflow work with an old FCP project?

Maybe I‘ve to explain a bit better:

When ingesting REDCODE Media into a new FCP 7 Project, using the log and transfer window, I‘m using Method 2 (RED FCP Whitepaper) and transcoding R3D to 2k ProRes HQ. Then edit and send sequenz with 2k ProRes HQ files from FCP 7 to Color 1.5.
Now in Color 1.5 appears a RED tab in the Primary In room, next to the Basic and Advanced tabs and „enabled“ is turned off and I‘ve no access to RED specific parameters.

The same workflow with same REDCODE media ingested weeks ago in an older FCP Version but now opened under FCP 7 works fine with access to RED parameters in Color 1.5.

What I don‘t understand is why does it work wit the same media from the older project and not from the new FCP 7 project. The REDCODE plugin for Color (v 2.9) is installed.

Thanks in advance for advice!

Now it works, I was using Method 1 (RED FCP Whitepaper) transcoding to ProRes instead of Method 2 ingesting native RED QuickTime files. Sorry for my stupid questions but I didn‘t notice my mistake in the Import Preference sheet before.
