Blur on Apple site says :

[4K support
Color 1.5 allows you to grade and render at maximum quality, with a workflow that supports native 4K files from cameras such as the RED ONE. Output directly to ProRes 4444 for HD delivery or render DPX or Cineon files for digital cinema mastering or film outs.

Personally not interested in FCP ... just Color.

What is the process of pointing to an R3D clip ... grading and outputting the result (eg to ProRes444) ?

Can somebody let me know a step 1-to-n dummys guide of how to import a 4k R3D ? the rest I can kind of work out ;-)

Cheers ...

1) Go to Setup Room
2) Navigate to a R3D file and double click on it

Pretty easy really.

AT LAST .. no QT proxy and it works out of the gate !
Shame on me not even bothering trying as I expected 64k loops ;-)

Cheers ! (Apple and RED !)

Wow ...

Wow ...

Renders from Colour => reallyyyyyyyyyyyyy nice quality ... !

Maybe I should not ask, but when starting with a 4K R3D clip, and setting either a HD or 2K project setting, what is Color / RED plugin using in the background for debayer quality ect (1/2 high ?) ... ie: I cannot see the equivalent RedAlert controls. Perhaps I should not care as the quality of the output is sweet !

Has the Red Colour Science reached the Color / RED plug in yet ? I suspect the answer is not yet ???

It's stating to feel like RA is not going to get used in the near future ...

I agree color 1.5 renders are the most beautiful R3d renders i have ever seen, it almost makes me want to go back and re-render everything i've ever colored (at least red-wise).

The new build 20 color science is indeed employed within color; and debayer quality is controlled in your setup tab under proxy support/render quality (i believe the default is full) i've been coloring with 1/4 res for playback to maintain my frame rate, 1/2 res for grading purposes so color can keep up with me (sort-of), and full for renders; and man is it sweet!

Happy friday!
