  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Coke Ad Lenses?

Just wondering if they went with something new or classic . Either way, it looks fantastic!

Agreed - looked good. Didn't look too retro to me, so made me wonder if it wasn't some newer glass.
 
I dont think it was the new master anamorphics...the master anamorphics don't flare like anamorphics they almost have no anamorphic characteristics except the bokeh. In the commercial there are many flares and also lots of distortion. so because of their budget probably panavsion anamorphics.
 
At least on Youtube, the images have a very Panavision C-Series quality to them. That, and the fact that it's very handheld looking makes me think they were smaller anamorphics (C-Series, G-Series, etc)...doubtful they were Primos.
 
Id say its G series , C is softer and the flares would be more expressive.

Who makes Panavision Anamorphics ? Are they made by Leica?
 
They get their glass from Leica but they are designed and built by Panavision.

It's definitely Panavision lenses because the new Master Anamorphics do not flare like that and I don't believe that the Cookes have that style of flare. I'm still sticking with my Primo Anamorphic assumption but my second guess would be G series.

Did you see Total Recall (remake) shot on RED? That's was shot with Panavision anamorphics. Lots of classics have been shot with Panavision Anamorphics. Panavision makes great lenses period. The Primos were designed by the designor of the Summilux C's.
