Lately I've been running into codec errors while shooting. last night it became a real problem when I missed a moment that I couldn't get back. It seems that this only happens when I'm in 3k 16:9 and over cranked for slo mo. Maybe this has been covered before, but I'd like to know how to avoid this, and more importantly what this error really is. Is it a write problem with the HD? Is it just a temporarily confused camera? What? Anyone else had this problem?

I seem to remember one of the RED guys saying there was a problem with the firmware shooting 3K @120fps, but if you went down to 117fps, it would go away.

Surely you mean 2k.

If your R1 can do 117fps in 3k... then you my friend have a gem!

Please email your camera logs to deanan at red and stuart at red and we'll have them checked out.

That would be in 2K of course, and there is a known bug with 30.5.0 that every other frame is lower resolution than it should be. Beta firmware 30.6.0 solves it.
