Hi Guys,

I do not how to ask but i really need your support.

I ve seen Code 46 movie on DVD and i killed me. I love it.. Every picture, moves etc... best cinemotography i ve ever seen.

Can we discuss what is the secret behing the beautiful images? Just because of the film? or anamorphic lenses? (is it anomorphic by the way?) color correction or anything else? Is it possible to get the same images with my RED?

Please share your comments or any kind of impormation regarding code 46.

Hi Ergin,
I supplied the camera equipment for Code 46 while working for a camera rental company called ICE Film in London. It was shot Super35 using 3 perf cameras (an Aaton 35 and an ARRI 435). The lenses were Ultraprimes. It was edited using final cut pro. The secret was that there were 2 fantastic dops, Marcel Zyskind and Alwin Kuchler and a talented focus puller called Simon Tindall. Marcel shot everything in Shanghai, Dubai, Jaipur, Jodphur using mainly available light. I believe Alwin shot most of the London based stuff. (Samantha Mortons apartment was studio based).

Best regards
Patric

Hi Patric,
You were so lucky to participate to such a great movie.
I mostly liked Marcel's shots. Did they use any anamorphic lens?
It seems everything is wideangle or anamorphic?
And the low light shots are also great.

Hi Ergin,
Thanks, I've been lucky to support a few great independant films over the years. No anamorphic lenses were used on Code 46. The whole film was shot on Super35 3 perf.
I believe they used the 10mm Ultraprime quite a lot.

Hi Patric,

You are great. This is the trick i have looking for. Initially i thought they used anamorphic a lot but now it is clear that it is 10mm ultrawide. (That is why i ordered tokina11-16mm:))
Normally i like dof kind of stuff but this movie is a king of wide angle.
