Hello everyone,

I'm having a problem when importing my RED footage into REDalert. The footage doesn't look anything like what we shot. The contrast seems way off and the footage looks "cloudy". Any ideas? Also, when I try to adjust it and export it as ProRes 422 HQ, the footage seems to change and brighten up when imported into Final Cut 6. And, to make matters worse, when I export a "Quicktime Movie" of that footage from Final Cut, it really washes out the footage. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!!!

Check your settings on the camera if possible in which view mode you shot RAW View, Rec709 or RedSpace, in Redalert set you viewing options accordingly.

I´d assume you shot with a Rec709 curve and are now viewing at Camera RGB and RedSpace.

If that´s the case be aware that you allready gave away a lot of information on set adjusting the camera to the Rec709 preview and not to Raw.

Testing prior to shooting also with the post (even if it´s a MacBook Pro) helps a lot

Manuel
