HI, I need to deliver a music video and they needed it CC. I sent a .mxf file to the captioning company that I created with Compressor. I got the video captioned and they embedded it in the .mxf file but when management of the artist I did the video for submitted to Much Music (Canadian video channel) for broadcast and they said they could not find the caption information. The CC company thinks it might have to do with a timecode start. I am not sure how to resolve this issue, they seem to be pointing blame to the broadcaster when they convert the file the broadcaster says that "It seems that your embedding software doesn’t like the MXF codec that we export directly from our editing software (Velocity by Harris), probably because it is pretty old. When I run that MXF through a transcoder (we use Rhozet) and output it as an MXF again it works fine." . They said to try and export another .mxf file from my project otherwise they need to charge a fee to re-transcode it and I have already paid the CC company to supposedly do this. This is over my head but I am using FCX and compressor. Is there a setting I am missing when I deliver the .mxf to the CC or is the CC company doing something weird? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. These are the specifications that I need to deliver the video in with close captioning embedded.
