This should be an easy solution, but tonight i am blocked!:banghead: I mistakenly shot a couple of clips at 30 fps and need to convert to 24 fps to sync music video. Can I do this on Red Cine X? or do I have to export to FCP 7 any help would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Conform will slo-mo it. I don't know if Red cine has a method for dropping frames on export.

FCPX handles multiple frame rates well in timeline.

One time I had to do this for something really critical. Short Interlaced clip at 60i (30fps).

I used Shake or Twister to remove interlacing and slow the clip down to 120fps. Once I had 120 excellent frames per second, getting 24 was a matter of dropping every 20th frame to get 96fps then speeding up to 24fps. I wish I could remember more but believe me that I tried EVERYTHING you could imagine and this approach yielded the best results, at least on that particular clip.

30x4 = 120
24x5 = 120

Found the common denominator. This had better results than just dropping every 5th frame because the differences before and after dropped frame were noticeable.

There are guys on this forum that know a lot more than me and may find this unnecessary, may be tools or methods that accomplish better results easier. It's just my two cents.

Hope it helps,

Michael
