I am using Mac. I have a bunch of clips that play perfectly on proxies on all resolutions. However, when I load it up into RedCineX the file crashes it. Is it possible to have proxies that play perfectly but have R3D files that are corrupt?

I am having this exact same issue, I have clips that play through, and I can watch proxies in Quicktime, but as soon as I start scrubbing the clip in RedCine-X it starts crashing the software. I shot a 4k Anamorphic project and have a handful of clips that are doing this. Any ideas?
*EDIT*
I found a specific range of frames that cause the crash consistently. Is this something from the transfer, or just bad files off the camera?
*They are all CF Card reels BTW.
Thanks!
No, the cards were overwritten several times over the course of the production. We knew there were bad clips from DIT, but only had two 16gb cards and everything was in such a rush, we just had to keep moving. Luckily it's a music video and the clips that are corrupt aren't the end of the world. In fact, i've been checking through the backup drive, and some of the clips are actually fine on that drive. I don't understand how one reel is corrupt on the main drive, but not on the backup drive when they are the EXACT same file size.
So if this is a case of a bad transfer (which is why the card is transfered to each drive individually) what is a good failsafe for DIT other than watching EVERY clip from start to finish on both drives? On quick moving sets this seems nearly impossible. Any tips?
Cool, I found that utility, Disk Arbitrator 0.3.0, I just don't understand how different frames are bad on both transfers, when they are the exact same filesize down to the byte. Is it bad practice to transfer to both drives simultaneously? Also, what do some of you other DITs do to checkt both drives after the transfer if you don't have time to watch through every clip twice, and they both display the same exact filesize?
Last thing, I have one card has two clips, and both are corrupt at different points, so it's clearly a transfer issue (also it crashes redcine and quicktime instead of displaying grey frames). Will Red Undead possibly help me, or are these clips most likely gone, other than trying to trancode around the bad frames?
Great, I'll definitely be buying R3D data manager before our next gig. The last question I have that you brought up is multiple computers. We have a 12-core and 2 MBPs, but I have yet to find or come up with a way to speed up the whole DIT process using more than just one computer. If I have 2 externals and a card reader, I feel like using the second computer to do anything would involve moving drives back and forth between computers. Any tips or links to threads where this is discussed? I'd love to find a way to utilize more than one computer since we usually bring both, but the laptop more or less just sits there for internet, or text documents to take notes, etc.
And yes, it was the 16gb cards, on a Lexar FW800 reader.
We had the same problem, and the Lexar appeared to be the source. It would tend to overheat and start corrupting files. I actually got better results just using a Sandisk USB reader, although obviously at slower transfer speeds.
If you have more than one Lexar, try switching on each transfer to keep temperature down.
We got the RED CF card reader and that's been rock solid since.
R3D is a must for whichever way you go.
