Hello all. I am attempting to grade in RCX (build 262) from a timeline that was created from Clipfinder. I imported an FCP xml into Clipfinder, arranged the clips using the "Sequence position" column, then sent the clips to a REDCINE-X Timeline.

Once the grade in the timeline is done, how is everyone rendering and getting back to FCP?

I've read that some of you don't import subclips in the clipfinder xml, then render the entire clip in RCX so you can just reconnect the files in your FCP timeline.

Is that the best/only way to do it right now or am I missing something?

* On another note, and I'm not sure if this is a Clipfinder or RCX issue, but I have some clips that import into RCX as the entire clip rather than the subclip.

Thanks for your input/suggestions.

Uli

If you have any time remapping. the whole clip should come in.

You should use RCX 351...

Clipfinder reconnects files just great, depending on version...

But what about after you render? How do you get back to FCP? Or is everyone rendering the whole timeline as one big quicktime?

So you're saying once I've conformed my FCP xml using "tools/conform FCP XML" to point to the R3D, send the clips into REDCINE-X, grade and render them, I should do it AGAIN to point the XML to the rendered files from RCX?

Because if I try to do that, I only have the option of pointing to the red proxies or DPX files. Please clarify.

Thanks.

What is your codec? If for example is prores 4444 uncheck the box that point to proxies and dpx and set the directory to the prores 4444 folder.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what you're talking about. Uncheck what boxes and where?

Hopefully you've rendered the online files to a folder with original filenames...

In the conform window, de-check the r3d file as source folder, and load the online-file folder for Clipfinder to look in.

Choose quicktime for conform and run conform...

Maybe you're working with a different version of clipfinder from me? I think I know what you're talking about, but I don't see those exact options.

What I did was uncheck the box that tells the conform to point to the proxies. I added my render directory below and unchecked "enable subclip conform." When I hit "Run Conform," it told me "Replaced 6 of 6" clips. Unfortunately, I had 10 clips in the timeline, 4 went offline, 3 remained connected to the proxies, and the rest reconnected to the actual render files from RCX.

No sure where to go from here, but your help is appreciated. Thanks.
