I've been getting up to speed on clipfinder today and I'm having a small issue with the naming structure after rendering. I've imported an FCP XML file to clipfinder and everything is working fine, except that CL is adding the in/out data to the end of the clip names when I render.

Example:
A001_C110_0402QB_401_539.mov
should be
A001_C110_0402QB.mov

Anyone know where I'm going? I'm sure it's simple, but I just don't see it.

Many thanks

Hi I had the same issue and couldnt do clip replace in the FCP timeline after render from redcine, another issue, when I did export the XML to clip finder and then opened it in REDCINE, the in and out points of the shots were completetly off, so I had to trim by hand which is nonsense any clues?
Best regards
Oscar

That is precisely the reason why the suffix is appended.
Clipfinder's conform feature gives you the option to match against the first 16 characters of the file names in your clip directory.
This is covered in "What's new in Clipfinder 2.5" in the integrated Help Pages (CMD-?).
Since there are now many new users I'll also write up some workflow advice over the weekend and put it in the Help Pages and my web site.
If you encounter any more problems, please mail me directly. This will enable me to react much faster than when I have to keep scanning REDuser.

Cheers,
Hans

The only issue would be if you have several subclips from the same file name, only the 1st will be modified as 2 files cannot have the same name.

redcolor redgamma rendering

redcolor redgamma rendering

Hans,

Thanks for all the support thus far. I was wondering if ProRes redcolor & redgamma rendering is supported in 2.5? We are currently using 2.2 and have loved it, but we are really looking to render out our next set of offlines into this new color space, as we might take it to final color on a student project.

Thanks

I need to make a few minor changes to Clipfinder to make it work with the new version of REDline.
I expect to release a new build over the weekend.
This will then support FLUT color science and Rocket-enabled rendering.

Cheers,
Hans

Just a quick heads-up:
Integrating the new REDline is turning out to be more difficult than I expected.
There are also several issues in REDline itself that need fixing (it's a re-written from scratch beta, after all).
I'll post as soon as I have more news.

Cheers,
Hans
