I have just released Clipfinder 2.2 beta 4.
This version integrates a beta SDK that supports the new color science.
Thus, the display in the loupe window and the thumbnails now match the display you get from REDAlert 20.1.2 (and you can go back to doing your one-light in Clipfinder).
The display in the main window, which is proxy-based, is still way off in terms of color balance and will continue to be until a new version of the RED Quicktime codec is released.

Cheers
Hans

you´re the man!

as allways many thanks for your work, I ask to donate to everybody in every production!, you still saving the day many times.

Best!

Fantastic Hans!

Amazing! Will the open in RedAlert! feature be fixed as well?

so, it is not yet upload on the website?

Perhaps he means that it no longer opens in RED Alert! when you double click on a file, but it still has the menu option and hotkey, Command-R.

Now I see it, thanks Hans.

Nick: I am not sure I understand. Why does the "open in REDAlert" feature need fixing ?
Kaku: It is available from my website, as usual.

Cheers,
Hans

After I downloaded RAv20 The "open in RA" function of Clipfinder no longer worked for me... maybe it's something on my end. Thanks!

The REDalert application MUST be named "REDAlert" or the AppleScript triggered by Clipfinder will not work.
Maybe that is the problem.

Cheers,
Hans

Just curious why does Command-R sometimes get to the file but not open it completely. This only happens occasionally but I'm wondering if it's the script not going all the way at times, or if there is something else going on. Not a big deal as I just hit enter to open it.

I think it's because the operation times out. Usually this happens when the drive doesn't respond "fast enough"

Thanks Hans... very helpfull.
I'm just trying right now.

The "open in REDAlert" function needs to use AppleScript and User Interface Scripting and needs to perform multiple steps. For some of these steps (bringing up the "Open File" dialog, for instance) the script cannot determine when the previous step has completed. Thus, the script just waits a little while and hopes that the button it needs to press has been put on the screen in the meantime. On slower machines the interval is sometimes a little too short. I could make the interval longer, but that would make every open operation slower.

Cheers,
Hans

Hans,

Thank you for all of your work as usual. Can you tell me if the new Clipfinder build works both with old and new Science?

Best,

Kaku,

In order to support a particular flavour of color science Clipfinder needs matching versions of the SDK and of REDline. Only then does the rendition in the loupe window match the output generated by REDline.

In order to work with the old color science you need to install REDAlert package 3.6 (which includes REDline) and use Clipfinder 2.2 beta 3.

In order to work with the new color science you need to install REDAlert package 20.x and use Clipfinder 2.2 beta 4.

Both versions of Clipfinder are available from my website.

Cheers,
Hans

Hans,

Thank you very much, that is what I imagined but I wanted to double check or I was fantasizing that the new Clipfinder build can handle both situations ;).

Thanks again for the clarification.
