  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Clipfinder 2.1 final version released

Perfect, thanks. :)

Just to let people know, I've just experienced Clipfinder skipping a R3D with no proxies during rendering all clips process. The camera failed to generate QT proxies for some reason, and I guess Clipfinder works based on those QT reference files. So it would make sense this happened. For the fix, I just generated the proxies from RA, and all was well.

Nook,

Is it possible that the clip without proxies did not even load into Clipfinder ? That's what I would suspect. Can you confirm ?

Cheers,
Hans

I'm having a problem with rendering in clipfinder. It will go through about 4-5 clips fine, then all of a sudden just hang and freezes. I can still navigate around clipfinder, but in order to get the rendering to work again I must exit and restart it again. Any thoughts? I'll try re-installing red alert and the QT codec again...

Can you mail me a screen shot of Clipfinder in this state ? My E-mail address is in the help pages (CMD-?). I'll look at it right away.

Hi Hans -

Yes, I've just checked and confirmed that Clipfinder doesn't load up R3D files with no QT proxies. Now it is very important to check all the RDC folders before I drop them into Clipfinder. Or.. can we have an alert message telling us if there's any RDC folders that didn't make in?

Cheers,

Great! I'm anxiously looking forward to the next version. That will make Red workflow soooooooo simple. Of course, I'm talking about In/Out render.. :)

Hi Hans -

Your website seems to be down at the moment. I was going to download a copy.

Does this mean you're uploading the next release? :)

Hi Hans -

I hadn't noticed this before, but at the moment, the Status window doesn't get the numbers of frames correct when I render In/Out only. Will this be updated in the next version?

Best,

Hi Hans,

Any plans to support the new version of RedRushes with increased Avid support?

Emmanuel

Which DNXHD is the one showing up in the list as of now. I just exported to that but I don't know what one I exported to. Having the full list of DNX codecs via 1.10 Avid Codecs would be nice.

Emmanuel, Steve,

Sorry, I had not noticed the changes in REDRushes and REDline.
I have just put version 2.1.5 of Clipfinder on my server.
This includes all the new AVID codecs.

Cheers,
Hans

I guess I was too fast.
I have now added ALE generation for the new formats.
Just download again.

I must admit, though, that I have no Avid experience whatsoever (and no Avid license either).
If you need more Avid support I'd be happy to hear your suggestions.
You'd have to do the testing, though.

Cheers,
Hans
