Is there a way to "mark" a clip during the recording process to flag key moments? For example--during a really long interview when the subject sporadically nails soundbytes. Would speed up my logging process quite a bit.

That would be great to have.

I would love this feature too! The way the Red team is listening these days... don't be surprised if this happens!

I agree. It would be great for when using Red to take photos (via video). By programming a button to make the shutter noise and marking the video at that frame, it'll help editing later to find the frame (knowing that's when you took - or want the still). May also be good for labelling what's the take that you'd "PRINT" aka the good take from the bad ones.

I just posted a similar request on another thread.

All RED would need to do to make this viable is a softkey function which would mark the "gotake" clip say from a traditional blue folder to say red folder. Much the way you can change colours of your folders within Macs.

Think .....instead of a sea of little blue folders opening up before your eyes with huge file names & all looking identical..would be sea of blue folders with still incomprehensible file names peppered by Red gotake clip/folders.

Hey Wey,

I've spent a ......while ...... using TC /Slates/cue sheets from Assistants. There are times when its warranted & needed, ie when the dollars are there.....& times not (lesser dollars , remote locations etc. ) . This is isn't a question of one or the other . It should be about having both when & if the job requires it & about RED empowering users with simple software for ease of use. I call this efficiency.
