Hi there,

has anyone protected their 18-50mm Red zoom by a clear filter ? We´re trying to do so, but it seems that the lens thread doesn´t fit into the standard round filter program. At least that´s been said for Tiffen.

Can anyone help ?

Any standard 72mm screw in filter should work. I've been frequently using screw-in filters on the 18-50 for the last 15 months. I use Hoya multi-coated filters and have had no problems in fit or with the footage. I don't remember using Tiffen on it, but I have also used a few other manufacturers threaded filters with the 18-50, with no problems.

Tiffen 72mm filters fit fine. I have Clear and ND's the clear stays on most of the time for Hand held work if the mattebox isnt fitted. Its one of the narrow rim ones that has not thread on the outside. The ND does have a thread on the outer edge and doesnt vignet.
