  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Clean output over SDI

I tried that the other day to an HDSDI monitor and I got a shaded boarder around the screen. Am I doing something wrong?

The "Shaded boarder" is always there on the SDI out during live view. Right now you can not get a "clean" output as you have put it.
 
I was thinking it would be cool to have a "Red Deck" type prduct that you would plug the drive into, and playback over hdsdi, maybe have ESata ports for dumping to computer, and possibly a small screen for playback (although this would be the toughest part). It would be like a P2 Gear for Redcode. That way you wouldn't have live HDSDI clean output, but you could capture like it were tape or a Genesis (I think) mag.

Red One is not the right camera for this.

Only 720p live output
No Genlock
No return video
No communications
'Quick and Dirty' live debayer and color space
Need for separate power, unlike live broadcast cameras
Difficult to match to broadcast cameras- no CCU or phasing controls
