This isn't a complaint... put this in the suggestion/idea form!

What if there was a monthly or weekly day we could come together at RSH to learn?

Create a three hour session after hours and become more familiar with the program, keep up to date on new features, ask workflow questions, see demos of the newly added advanced features.

What a great opportunity for someone like, Luke, to teach a class and grow from the experience. What a great opportunity to build new relationships in our community, get to know the RED team members, to be inspired by each other and learn more about RCX.

Hope this lands. Thanks

It's so quiet around here.

If I can find 4-5 guys, would anyone at RED be willing to setup a class? 2-3 hours?

I think you can learn RCX in a day from the manual + RED 101 articles + random youtube tutorials, if necessary. It's pretty basic in it's current state.
If RCX added advanced secondary corrections, it might warrant more time to learn.

If you're going to do that, spend more time and learn Resolve and do it right. I can't color-correct anything these days without power windows, and if you don't do that, it's all for nothing. I don't have a problem just throwing a Rec709 LUT on footage as a temp, but for anything beyond that, you need a real color-correction system. Even Resolve Lite can do 99% of what you need -- for free.

I'd also worry much more about the monitor you're looking at. Without that, the color you see may not be the color you're really getting.

Yeah, overkill in terms of both time and money.

While it might be overkill for what you are looking for, this is something that is covered in Reducation.

Will,

Once the remodel is complete in LA we can discuss doing a RCX workshop. One of the big reasons for the remodel was to be able to accommodate smaller workshop style events and have a space that can be an interactive learning environment for our customers.

We will be in touch soon.

GREAT!

When is the new store open?

I'd love to be a part of this somehow. Let me know if I can do anything.

interactive learning environment for our customers.

I've been asking for this for a while and been told the same thing: when the RED Store remodel is finished, they may be open to doing workshops. I'm hoping to be involved. :-)
