Cinevate sees RED

Our local film school picked up a RED camera this year, prompting a pimp visit to Cinevate. The key tech dude for the camera is none other than Alex...who works for us part-time while completing his third year of film school. Thanks Alex

Hi Dennis,
what kind of 19 mm carbon rods are these....are the woven? Can they explode like some that Jim mentioned a while back? Thanks.

Jean, they are made just like our 15mm rods out of solid carbon fibre, manufactured to a tolerance better than +-.01mm. To give you an idea of how tough these rails are, we've seen at least one instance of a fedex delivery truck driving over a shipment of these rails. The rails sustained zero damage.

The carbon improves on typical stainless 19mm rods with a weight savings of 50% while stiffness increases 75%. Like our Durus Follow Focus, the rails carry a lifetime warranty.
