GROUP BUY CLOSED!
Hey guys. Here's a slider that I've been using for a while now and have been really impressed with the build quality, smooth sliding ability, and portability. I've owned almost every slider Cinevate has released, Atlas 10, 30, 200, etc and have always been happy with my purchases. The HEDRON is no exception. Since I've been incredibly happy with their latest release, I reached out to Cinevate to see if they would by chance be interested in getting a group buy started to bring savings to my fellow redusers.

After the group buy closes, I will be PMing the discount codes so you can place your orders. You will have 2 weeks to do so. If we hit the max tier before the group buy closes, Cinevate will release the discount code.

IMPORTANT - Orders will not ship until whatever tier level we reach orders have been placed. So if we get 32 people to commit, but only 28 actually place an order, Cinevate won't ship everyone's order until 2 more orders come in, that way it protects them from only a few people actually placing orders when they give a bigger discount code. So if you put your name down, please honor that commitment. I understand things come up, and if they do, please let me know so you can be removed from the list.

Let's have a great group buy!

Whats the largest size that can fit on ONE tripod without extra support? Ie for a one man run nun n gun slider solution?

2 feet? Or 3 feet?

Thanks!!

If you get the counter weight system you may be able to get away with a five foot rail and still use one tripod as the weight is evenly distributed. One of their videos demonstrates this:

Scroll down to the last video.

Hoping that is the case because this would allow me to move very quickly and still do killer moves.

I'm in on a 5ft version. Been wanting one of these and a GB seals the deal.

Gotcha down Brian...you're gonna love it!

If you don't add counterbalance and you want to run an Epic kit off a single set of sticks, then I really wouldn't go more than 2 feet. As you get more and more weight out to one side, the slider will tilt since it's so off-balance. It's not a fault of the slider, but the tripod and having so much weight out there. However, if you dual support or add the counterbalance option, then you could go 3-4 feet, possibly 5, and have no horizontal tilt shift.

Personally I think the 3 foot version is the most versatile. 99% of the time, if I'm doing a slider shot, you're not on that shot for more than 5-7 seconds in the edit, so you don't need a long slider. Even at 5-7 seconds, that's still moving it pretty quickly to go 3 feet. Also, the 3 footer allows you to use various DIT/Carts, small tables, etc if you don't want to dual stand/tripod support the rig. Adding a counterbalance is the best of both worlds though, as that would essentially enable you to use one set of sticks and rattle off shots very quickly since you're not having to use 2 stands.

Here's that counterbalancing video:

Hi there,

Strongly interested in a 4 ft version. However, i can't confirm before next week, but of course i'll do so before the deadline !
We'll get a discount code meaning we can order other items (like a carrying case for instance) ?

I'll put you down so let me know if you need to be removed. Yes, you'll be able to order other items as well.

Well that's for sure now :p Just need to make a decision regarding the accessories (counterbalance and weihgts).

Quick question regarding the 2 counterbalance options : the Dromos with 100mm bowl is meant to be mounted on an empty 100mm bowl tripod. But if i want to keep using my existing head, i should go for the standard counterbalance kit right ?

The slider will always be more stable when it's flat mounted on a tripod directly without the head. Even larger heads could still have some potential wobble once you get out to the farther ends, so typically it's aways best to flat mount (or via the dromos).

Weird, Cinevate has just decreased the base price of the Hedron. Now starting at 599 instead of 799. I'm still gonna wait for this group buy, but it would be nice to know if the final prices are going to be lower than expected :p

Yea, they lowered the price a bit, but the group buy is still the cheaper option if we get enough numbers.
