  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cinetape?

well ok Cinetape came along at the same time if not before panatape but who cares...Yes it works well with red as a matter of opinion i believe it should be with every RED in demanding focus situations cause RED focus can be demanding to say the least.

Thanks Sergio.

it's possible that i'd be on shooting with it, but -as usual- it depends of the budget! so... :)

It's a great tool. Once it's calibrated it works fairly well, and it's vary directional, from what I understand. Every camera on a feature has one.

Someone, at the rental house told me that the common problems comes when calibrating it...

What do these systems typically cost to own?

...Some pictures of it used on stage:

For Mounting the CineTape, be on the lookout for Element Technica's new Cine Tape V-Lock Plate. As with our other V-Lock products, this plate will allow you to quickly and easily attach\detach this device from your camera using one of our 15 or 19mm V-Docks.

The plate should be available within the next week or two, so keep checking back on our website!

We often use a Cinetape on commercials. Just another tool in the arsenal.
Steve, that is good news about the mount. We usually remove a screw from the top flap locking nut on the LMB-5. PITA.
Cheers,
Harry

I have one. I love it. It really helps with hand held work where the camera and tallent are moving around and focus marks are left behind.

It is a great second oppinion on distance. It is accurate, but you still need a good focus puller to think about what is happening :)
