Hi I ordered the 5 foot cineslider from Kessler crane and looking for the best way to support it. Since it is 5foot you are not suppose to centermount it on the hercules head. Atleast not without some support at the ends. I have a kessler crane with a K-pod system with hercules head so it could be one option with some smart support at the ends. Maby it would work with a monotripod at each end. Anyway im planning to get 2 tripods to mount it on. How are you guys doing it? putting it straight on the tripods or using ballheads. If the ground is uneaven I don't want to have to be super accurate. That what why I love to have a ballmount at the bottom of a tripod.

The I high hat from kessler might be an good idea, to use for the last finetweak. Would love to se picture of your cineslider rigs! or just plane tips. How would you mount it above people?

Later I will add the revolutionhead and motor! Since im not planning to do alot of timelaps, is it better to get one oracle controller and one Electra drive basic for the slider? One downside seams to be that you cant program the Electra drive. If you get 2 oracle controllers can you synch them easy so you get the exakt move (can they comunicate with eachother).

What motors are you using for filming? or is one of them good foor both film and timelaps?

I highly suggest using Manfrotto 536 or 535 sticks, with either 75mm or 100mm half balls. Use these Manfrotto quick release plates between the half ball and the Cineslider (leave them attached to the bottom of the Cineslider): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009R6H2

I also highly recommend the new 100mm bowl "sidecar" that hangs off to one side of the Cineslider. This allows you to keep the camera (especially an Epic) closer to the track. I'm not sure of the exact name of that 100mm bowl side plate. Just call and ask Chris Beller.

Stacey, that might be it. Check with Kessler. It might be slightly different (shorter), but that's basically what it does.

It works great with Epic. I have not tried it with MX.

If you want to put a tripod head on the slider. Should I use a "Kessler Flat Mount Adapter" to mount on or just put it straight on the slider?

I plan on throwing a 100mm bowl on the bottom the slider and putting it directly onto my sticks. Then my head ontop using the ball relocater (or their small hi-hat) posted above... Basically the same way you would do it on regular mitchell overkeeper. I see no reason to use two tripods...
