Cineovision 35mm Vintage Japanese anamorphic

With their fast aperature and vintage coatings these lenses have a very expressive quality. Great to mix in with the more modern lenses or to use for an entire project. I believe It has a Contax/Zeiss 35mm prime with a Shiga Anamorphic front. This lens is in very good condition, glass is clean and clear with no signs of haze or fungus with only minor cleaning marks and micro scratches in places. The lens has just been serviced mechanically and optically so service records can be provided upon request. Follow focus gears installed and the lens comes with rear cap and orignal front cover. Cineovision anamorphics are very popular and were recently used in making this music video, jay z holy grail. The lens has a close focus of about 1 meter as manufactured, but an external screw can easily be removed allowing for close focus down to about 0.5 meters.

Note it has been recently brought to my attention that the spherical may be a Canon k35 and not a Zeiss as I had previously thought.​

How does this cover 6K ANA?

I believe I heard of them being used on the 6K I never tried. I remember reading about a short film called Open 24 Hours that was shot with Cineovisions and 6K 2:1 anamorphic. I have never shot with the 6K and am not exactly sure what size is required to cover the 6K ANA mode. I don't want to give you the wrong information so if you can tell me the sensor width and height it would need to cover I can throw it on a full frame camera and tell you if it covers or not. I believe the Cineovisons were designed to cover larger than s35.

If I may chime in, I believe all S35 anamorphic lenses designed for 4-perf film should cover 6k, since you would crop a 4:3 area out of the ~16x9 sensor, which is smaller than 4-perf. Alexa 4:3/Mini are very close to 4-perf and tend to have a wider FOV since it is a larger sensor area than Dragon 6K anamorphic. Looking forward to seeing the 8K Dragon's anamorphic capabilities!

Thank you. That is what I suspected I have shot with it at 23.5mm x 15.7mm with no problems, I just didn't want to say it would until I was sure.
