I'm heading to LA for two weeks on Thursday and I wanted to make the most of my time there by going to some workshops or seminars to improve and learn more about cinematography. Unfortunately, I can't really afford these expensive one-day or week long courses, so I was hoping I might find some cheaper or even free options. I saw that Birns & Sawyer will have a cinematography event but that's all I've found so far. Does anyone know of any others? Or perhaps point me in the right direction where I might find them? It doesn't have to be specific to RED, anything cinematography-related is already a plus. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Neil, sorry for the late reply, I've been so busy here in L.A. I've barely had a chance to go online!

I wanted to thank you again for your hospitality at the event, it was a fantastic day. Very informative, I had a chance to talk to lots of different people, all of whom were very welcoming and eager to explain about their different products. The talks Shane gave were also great, getting to hear those kinds of opinions about the advantages of digital cinematography from a renowned ASC cinematographer.

It was a great introduction to Hollywood, and hopefully this will be one of many trips I'll make to Los Angeles.

Thanks again for everything,

Lourenço
