Hi All,

Bit of a bizarre scenario here but here goes.

Footage shot 23.98, for whatever reason proxies made 29.97 and offlined 29.97.

Now at conform stage and there are three possible solutions;

1. Move away from RAW and conform to 29.97 frame converted QTs (RLF, RC3)
2. Move away from RAW and conform to 29.97 OpenEXR image sequence
3. Ideal scenario - ability to change SRC TC rate in R3D from 23.98 to 29.97 - RAW workflow remains and everything is right with the world.

I've looked into RCX, Storm - Now just looking through archives to see if any legacy software such as Red Rushes had this functionality.

Just now looking into CinemaTools and whether the REDCODE for FCP will allow that to work.

If anyone has any clues they would be much appreciated. Ultimately conforming on Nucoda Film Master using EDLs if that is of use.

You never want to change the timecode of the original sources - editing 23.976 at 29.97 has been in use for a long time. It is referred to as Matchback. I don't know what NLE you are using, but in Media Composer, with a matchback project type you can edit at 29.97 and track both 29.97 w/pulldown as well as the original 24fps TC. An EDL could be generated for either rate. For this workflow, use the 24fps EDL to create a Pull List, and regenerate new media for the online. You can use the same EDL for the conform in Nucoda and work at 23.976 until the end, and create your 23.976, 25, 29.97 or whatever deliverables from there.
