  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cinema Oxide

Whatever backorder/retooling needed to be done for the wrenches seems to be straightened out.

I got a shipping confirmation yesterday and it should arrive tomorrow.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

We've caught up on all orders and they've all gone out last week and a few are going out TODAY and then we are officially all caught up.

Its true we've been slammed with orders. Its really great what's happening here and its been a pleasure to serve the RED community with lots of awesome gear. Just wait to see what we've got coming up.

@ Frazier -- You're on the money. We were just backordered on a few items. We're all caught up at the moment.

@ Lee Saxon -- Thanks. We put a lot of thought into both form and function.

@ Ivan -- Your order included an item that was backordered and it was sent out as soon as that item was in stock. In fact, based on the tracking information you should already have received it.

@ Ian -- The wrench set was an isolated issue and has been rectified. You will be receiving a new unit in a day or two.

@ Dustin -- I apologize that I did not respond to your question right away. I just sent you an email with a clear response, and I will be more efficient about responding to emails in the future.

@ David Carstens -- Our secret product is about to hit and the link is private at the moment. March 19-- Get Ready.

@ Everyone Else -- Thanks guys. You're the reason why we're doing this and please keep the feedback coming. It's our mission to keep developing the most innovative products and keep you running with the gear you need, and the gear you know you want.

Scarlet Case from Cinema Oxide

Scarlet Case from Cinema Oxide

First of all, got great quick response from Jason before ordering; got him on the phone to ask about the case for Scarlet, it shipped out within one day, took a few days to get out to the Seattle area.

It's really nicely cut foam and will work great for my Scarlet.

Here are a couple of notes.

Pay attention to the slots layout - you can't fit your ac power supply/cables in this case, nor the normal full-sized red station redmag. The new mini one might fit in the lower right misc. slot?

The camera cutout is spaced for the PL mount, so my aluminum canon mount leaves about a quarter inch gap. No biggie - it won't really move around, and the lid foam will secure things from the top.

I've been wondering about getting one of the third-party plastic covers for the back of the camera, and there doesn't seem to be enough room at the back to fit with that added thickness. I'm just guessing; it might still slide down in there with that cover attached. Has anyone else tried one in this case?

I don't have the EVF, so I'm keeping my small Canon 50mm 1.4 in that slot.

Overall, this is totally great and I'm glad to have saved a couple of hundred dollars off the Red-branded version.

Thanks, Cinema Oxide!

@ Jance -- thanks for the notes about the case.

Regarding the spacing for PL mount versus Canon mount: We designed our case so the holding force comes from the sides, because we did not want anything compressing the PL mout or Canon mount or any mount. So you might see a slight gap in front of the mount, and this was done intentionally. I hope this makes sense. If anyone has questions about this, please write to me at jason@cinemaoxide.com

Hey Jason, so the CinemaOxide plate is shipping as of yesterday? I ordered last week and can't wait :) I've been referring your stuff to REDuser's here in Australia who are also trying to get their Scarlet's up and running.

Matt

Hi Jason,

I just ordered the Complete Wrench Set earlier this afternoon. It looks like a very useful set of tools. One question though: do you know if one of the star wrenches happens to fit the little screws on the top of the Scarlet-X? I need to take of the part of the camera which covers the fans in order to install my Wooden Camera Easy Top X and was wondering whether this tool will serve that purpose as well.

Thanks,
Nick

Absolutely. You can use the T8 on the Torx wrench to remove the vent cover. Let me know if you have any other questions

Thanks for the info. Yes I have got the cable. Very nice.

Big thumbs up for Cinema Oxide. Today was my first experience ordering from them (battery plate adapter). Just over an hour from order confirmation to shipping confirmation and tracking info. Many thanks; keep up the great work!

Jason has be very quick to respond to my inquiries. Seems like my issue is post office related and so I just have to patiently wait for it to work through the system. International shipping via the post office can be an interesting experience at times.

Just received two sets of carbonite rods and a tool set. Very happy with everything. The rods are very cool; super light and nice looking. The tools are simple, well built and convenient to have all in one set. Good stuff.

Jason - had to jump on here and plug the carbonate rods again. I just got my rig together and they are absolutely great.

Now I just need a set of 8 inch. Maybe?
