I tried out my old Canon 150-600 with a 2x on a RED with an old RED evf today in bright sunlight. Pretty easy to correct my eye with the built in diopter and focus it at 4k.
When we 'zoomed in' using 2k it got a lot more difficult to focus.
That RED evf is nice but pretty awful heavy.
So my question is this:
If I buy the Cinema Oxide Carbonite scope, how different will the resolution be compared to the old RED evf when looking at the touchscreen?
I'd prefer buying the Grid 5.0 because it looks easier to remove and less expensive and it seems easier to use by removing it rather than flipping up the hood.
But, the Grid has no diopter adjustment which I need. How about if I hotmelt glued a diopter that worked for my eye into the eyecup of the Grid? Perhaps too funky?
Any opinions?
Thanks
