YES, you have guessed it, this is the official ChuckT thread.

What's it got to do with RED? Well, nothing and everything.

Since he seems to cause havoc whichever thread he writes into, we should give him his own thread. You know, so he can print it out. Frame it. Remember us when he falls alseep in his Sony t-shirt at night.

Perhaps ChuckT is the chosen one. You know... he who brings balance to the force.

As you know, we all here pretty excited about what is happening with RED. Or would amazed be the better word?

So we need ChuckT. You know, the oponent. Someone to rain on our parade, to piss in our pot. Without him we would all get lost in some candy red wonderland scenario.

I for myself have chosen to look out for his posts. Because everytime I see one, he makes me smile...

Thank you ChuckT!

In the spirit and honor of ChuckT, I felt it appropriate to cite other famous maxims by folks who thought they were correct and infallible, but history has proven otherwise.

“There is no need for any individual to have a computer in their home.”
[Ken Olson, President of Digital Equipment Corp, in 1977]

"I listen to the chat among professionals in the film industry. I do not sense any interest among them to use RED." [ChuckT]

“No one will need more than 637 kb of memory for a personal computer. 640K ought to be enough for anybody.”
[Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, in 1981]

"RED is the inexpensive, poor man's promised land." [ChuckT]

“Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible.”
[Lord Kelvin, ca. 1895, British mathematician and physicist]

"All my digitally scanned photos and videos were lost over the years." [ChuckT]

“Radio has no future.”
[Lord Kelvin, ca. 1897]

"It looks like most customers are waiting for RED to fix all the bugs before taking delivery." [ChuckT]

“Well informed people know it is impossible to transmit the voice over wires and that were it possible to do so, the thing would be of no practical value.”
[The Boston Post in 1865]

"You have explained, why professionals prefer the more expensive SONY gear instead of RED. SONY is practical and can be depended on for getting something done in real time and make a living. I am not knocking RED. It is great camera. But not for real time TV production. SNL does not use RED. Nor do any of the TV networks." [ChuckT]

“Computers in the future may weigh no more than 1.5 tons.”
[Popular Mechanics, forecasting the relentless march of science, 1949]

Here's to you, ChuckT, you're one of a kind!

Who and where is ChuckT?

You don't know him? Well, how would one explain (help me out here guys)...

My guess (and it's of course only speculation)...

... ChuckT works for RED. Yes!!!! He has been hired as an undercover agent, spreading ill rumors about the product, questioning people's sanity when investing in RED.

RED is hoping that ChuckT will be able to temporarily slow down the massive onslaught of orders, so they can catch up with production.

But this is the one horse that RED should not have bet on. Because ChuckT is having quite the opposite effect throughout the commuity. They are uniting and strengthening in their determination.

Dear Chuck Colburn, I'm just pulling your leg here. In all honesty I don't know how to answer your question. You just have to know him....

in that list,
"You have explained, why professionals prefer the more expensive SONY gear instead of RED. SONY is practical and can be depended on for getting something done in real time and make a living. I am not knocking RED. It is great camera. But not for real time TV production." ,
is misplaced, because this is actually quite correct.

"SNL does not use RED. Nor do any of the TV networks." [ChuckT] however is classic.

ChuckT will keep coming back, he's not one to let the facts get in the way of his viewpoint!:clown2:

Good idea for a thread !

Dave

you guys are idiots.

actually, worse. fanboys.

you guys are idiots.

actually, worse. fanboys.

And what are you? ChuckT's alter ego?

You registered today and all three of your posts are in threads directly responding to criticism of ChuckT.

This thread is childish and could be inflammatory so I will close it down. As for ChuckT, he's done enough to earn the treatment he gets. It goes beyond stirring up fanboys. Several of his comments have been less than professional and abrasive.
