I'm sorry to say I must part with my Chrosziel 456 Academy Triple matte box. This lightweight matte box is a real workhorse. It is solidly built and sturdy, and in very good condition with only minor scratches to show for it's Herculean efforts on set.
This matte box has 3 rotating stages with 4x5.6/5x5 filter trays, and is ready for use on 15mm rods, lightweight spacing. Or, purchase a step down ring separately and use as a clip on.
Also included in this package are the Chrosziel 401-17, which adapts 15mm light weight to 19mm rods, and is height and left/right adjustable for the perfect fit, and the DSW 500, which is a swing away bracket.
In terms of what a matte box offers, this kit is an excellent value.
Here's What Chrosziel has to say:
MatteBox 456 Academy Triple, for cameras with full format chip, with Triple-Rotating-Filter Stage, incl. french flag (402-26), 3 filterholders multiformat 5x5 / 4x5.650 (510-01), 16:9 matte insert, bracket for Ø15 mm rods & clamp adaptor Ø130mm. All MatteBoxes and SunShades for 15mm rods can now be equipped with the patented Chrosziel Direct Swing-Away-System DSW. It allows them to swing away and thus accelerates lens change. The new DSW 500 Adaptor with its pivoting radius of 100mm provides comfortable lens change not only for owners of Chrosziel MatteBoxes, but also for customers of competitiors’ products.
Additional photos are available. Please message me for details.
Asking price for the entire kit is $1999 US + shipping.
