Could be anywhere in the world today.
I shot and directed this TVC what seems years ago as I've been so busy this year I've lost track of time...
I do know though, that it was when one of the first EPICs had hit China and I was one of the first to hire it. People of China where watching closely and the EPIC back then was scary new.

This is one of those ad's that got murdered slowly, its a shadow of it's former self... sadly.
So many people were touching it, changing it, generally fucking it up that I thought I would never bring it out of the closet. But I looked at it again what seems a year later and thought maybe I was being a bit tough on it. I still don't like it only becuase I know how much better it could have been.. but it's ok... still worth sharing I think.

Enjoy.

Can you tell us what lenses you used? Nice work. Everyone is so harsh on their body of work. You should be proud.

Mark, if you don't mind me asking, what was the budget on this?

Things have really gotten bad in my market with commercial budgets almost disappearing. The largest production/post house in the area closed last year with a few others being bought out by local agencies for their own in-house work. I work regionally but as of late have found that many have decided to opt for local TV stations to shoot their stuff for free rather than pay a day rate. Sad times here indeed.

By the way, I have always enjoyed your work!

hi David.
The job was over a million US. ... Very heavy and wasteful though due to sports stars all having different agendas and schedules... Meaning we had to build extra studios and sets going back and forth continually wasting time and money...
Sorry to hear about the local work drying up.. It's a common problem around the world, my work is usually from global players from all parts of the planet. I know my local cities of Brisbane , Sydney and Melbourne are dead as well. It's a sign of the future unfortunatly mate. All you can do Is develop a business model to suite this new future.
Best of luck for the great of the year. I hope it picks up.
