The RR "is" a rod adapter and a follow focus at the same time if you mount it to a RED universal mount.

Have you checked that the 15mm rods are set at exactly the correct position when mounted this way? Not saying they are not, but it would be quite the coincidence. The way to check would be to put a mattebox with a hard back on it that is sized to precisely wrap around a given lens. If the height and centering is dead on they should slide together seamlessly. The rod holes look correct right/left, but I have a feeling the height would be off.

I've got a JBK and it came with a lot of play, but then I adjusted the press fit gear collars to reduce the play and it's now okay. It's very small and light. I will buy the Viewfactor if it gets made because of remote capabilities.

I did when I first tried it out and if I remember right it was a little low... maybe 1/2 inch. I'd have to test it again since I really don't use the 15mm bars. I just remember thinking either you'd need to shim up the FF or use a mattebox with some vertical adjustment. YMMV.

Is this a complicated procedure? I've noticed you're already pretty handy around the shop...wouldn't want to go with a JBK if I couldn't make this kind of adjustment myself.
