  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cheap batteries

well. they will work, if that is your Q.
I have been using chinese-sourced 150wt v-bricks for over a year with no problems, tho a diff brand.

I bought 4 of these batteries for my led lights but they work very very good on my R1MX. It's a bit heavier than a red brick however it lasts almost 2 hours. Great deal for the price.

$199 is a great deal for this bat

and also there's an Ikan charger that comes with 2 bricks 130wh... also in adorama...

ohw really Nice post... :)
because I am looking to buy Batterys for my RED ONE so you help me :)

Thank you

I've looked hard for cheaper Redvolts. Haven't found any yet which really surprises me. It has got to be only a matter of time I would think. A $100 or less Redvolt would really add to the value of the entire DSMC system IMO.

Hey Greg,
Try the Big Global media ones, I use the 160's as I travel with them but they also do 230. The 160's last me around 2.5hrs so you should get over 3 hrs with them. Also chat to John E as I believe they are doing a module so you can fit 2x red bricks inside the housing. They may also allow for the rear SSD reader to solve that issue too.

I have been using the Beillen for over a year and they work great. Only thing is you only get voltage status on your touch screen .. not the Charge % I understand that Globalmedia offer a "Red" version of their 160wh that does display all that info.

Cool. Do the Beillens show some sort of percent of charge left on the side of the battery? Also, are the included chargers solid?

Daniel .. I just have the batteries not charger but they charge fine in my old Sony Charger. Yes they do have 4 light test button on the side.

These look like a great option especially with the included chargers. Can anyone else vouch for them?

Have been using 2 of these for over a year as well, so far not any problem. The charger is just little smaller than the battery but weighs almost nothing.
They have a 4 step charge indicator on the side.

i really like my paglinks hot swap. bebop has ptaps. those ain't necessarily the cheapest batteries, but you gotta think ahead. i like my 16 battery charger, i think when you factor that in the paglinks are damn cheap if you don't need 3 chargers and just one for however many batteries i'll ever need for long shoots in deserts or something...

Just got 3 more from these guys.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/150wh-V-lock...ht_2372wt_1219

They take about 2-3 weeks. They also start with a tracking number from China's postal service that stops somewhere around Shanghai when it leaves China (but if you email them a week after it stops, they can tell you where it's at - which most likely is near you clearing customs by then).

Funny, I always get thrown off cause they link the Chinese version of the website first (where there's a link to the English version at the top right). Also, the shipping site asks for a verification that I thought the seller didn't send me...turns out it's merely a random verification code generated by the site (to prove you are not a robot). Threw me off but funny since it was me just being nervous.

The best part seems that the seller takes care of customs for you (to get it in the country...or at least here in Canada they do).

The chargers look like power brick adapters for a laptop but lighter. You change them individually but that's why it's one brick per battery.

Anyhow, I've bought on 3 separate occasions now and still impressed by them. They earn their high ebay score.
