Don't know if this the right section for this, but I'm trying it anyway...
I'm editing a short student film (offline) on an Apple Mac Pro in Final Cut Pro 7. And I'm using ProRess 422 proxies of the original Red files, made with Log & Transfer, for the offline edit.
The aspect ratio of the sequence (and clips) is 2:1 (2K, 2048x1024) We want to make the aspect ratio 2:40:1 for the final movie, and it has been shot for this ratio. I would like to create that ratio in my timeline in Final Cut Pro. There aren't any widescreen standard masks for this ratio in Final Cut Pro, so I was wondering what the best way is to create this aspect ratio? (With a mask, or another solution.)
The movie will be 2K in the final version, so the mask or other solution has to be suited for this (don't know if a mask has any kind of effect on this).
Maybe I've to create a mask in Photoshop?
