Shot a spec spot with S-W and Kowa anamorphics:

I wanted to test these lenses and S-W ana mode. Worked great, the lenses were better than I thought. The 40mm has some slight CA and distortion, but not too bad. 50mm, 75mm, 100mm were gorgeous.

We had 8 hours to shoot this and when camera went up, my Wooden Camera V-lock gimbal mount fuse blew. For people who have or are interested in getting this item, their fuses are 5 amps.... (Why would you put 5A fuse on a RED powering V-lock mount?). My RED wouldn't power on so I thought maybe the RED's fuse blew... thankfully it wasn't the camera. During prep everything was fine, but I guess we rewired D-taps another way on the V-lock plate on the day. Managed to scavenge another way with splitters but our teradek also died lol (rental gave us old teradek with internal battery that died). if anyone gets that Wooden Camera V-lock gimbal mount, change the fuse to 10A, I believe they may ship with 10A now as I've spoken to them about it.

Well, it looked nice. I agree with Douglas that the grading was nice. It's easy to show off with grading - in fact it's kind of a disease. It's good to see people treating that process maturely. I like anamorphic but I don't like the distortion, even though obviously you won't see it in most shots. These lenses do render nicely. I tend to agree with those who say that there's no point to anamorphic unless it's 2x.

I am sorry to have to say that the story is... weak. And stupid. We've all had stupid ideas for stories and I'm as guilty as anyone. The basic idea though is a really good one - a man walks by a woman and wants to track her down to ask her what she is wearing. But apart from that, the script is mediocre.

Very nice grade. I like your grade across all your most recent work (the ones posted on Vimeo). I'd like to hear more about the grading process :)

Thanks for your honest feedback Karim, I agree with you on the story being weak. Honestly this was more of a lens test for me, but for the director, it was his first directed piece. He always wanted to direct but never had the chance, so I gave him a shot. He worked very hard surprisingly, I thought he did great for his first time.
I'm testing a bunch of lenses for a commercial and needed to shoot something with the Kowa's before even thinking of bringing them on. The Kowa's are 2X, and they are fantastic, though I ended up going back with the Cooke's.

Thanks Jacob! I've just been practicing grading a lot in Davinci, lately been keying specific colors to look more like kodak stocks
