  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I just picked up a brand new CF module from the RED store today. I plugged it in. Connected the firewire cable. Inserted the 16G card. Turned it on. Red light came on. Then...nothing. My MacPro doesn't recognize the reader. Any ideas?

Funny...
That's the first question the guy at the RED store asked when I called. Not a stupid question, I am a noob and totally capable of that kind of mistake. Miraculously, the module worked when I tried it again with RED support on the phone. I didn't see the reader on my desktop or hardrive so the Support team pointed me towards disk utility. But before I found Disk Utility the module appeared. Maybe it was there all along or maybe it just started working, I don't know. I have tested it several times and it's working consistently now. I will say that the RED team addressed my problem immediately which I am thankful for. Also, Stephen, thanks for your response.
