Thank you so much for posting this. I would like to perform my own test soon. CA seems to be quite severe... There also seems to be some loss of sharpness in the corners on the 25 but that could have something to do with the big sensor in this specific case. You think wide open they start to bloom like classic super-speeds do? Do they also get less sharp en more severe CA or is that well controlled wide open? I'm thinking of shooting a test between CP2 Super Speeds, classic Super Speeds MK3 and the celere's because they're in the same rental-price category and all around T1.5. Maybe MP's of 5i as a high-end reference.

Thank you for posting your review ! Martijn - regarding large sensor note above - 6K open gate is approximately APS-H size. I may be mistaken but I think Celeres are supposed to handle ~ 36x24 aka classic vistavision format (larger than apps-H)

Btw - music video looked cool! Kudos , I like your work Andrei

Please do it Martijn! ;)

I would like to conduct someday a more precise test between different lens sets. Maybe after my Weapon Helium gets here. I only used them wide open in the shot from the review. So there I noticed the contax like blooming. So hard to tell how much sharpness is affected when you get that type of bloom :) The feeling is softer overall. About CA at wide-open I don't know as I did not have anything that could generate CA in that shot.

As for the 25 and corner softness, as Dan mentioned, the Celeres are made to cover 36X24, so larger than the Dragon/Helium sensors. But as with all lenses out there, except for the really high-end ones, corner sharpness is not the same as center sharpness. So probably the corner softness we see now on Dragon sensor size gets even more noticeable on VV sensor size.

Thanks Dan for the kind words! :)
