All;

I did some limited testing with REDCINE X PRO v2 yesterday and it appears that the filename is not being correctly added to the TAPE as in all previous versions. It seems as though Camera (A for example) is being inserted. The ALE is correct, but a merge cannot happen due to the mismatch in source. This will cause headaches in many workflows. I have already alerted the RED team to the issue.

Is anyone else seeing this? Just want to make sure it's not just me and my test environment.

Thanks for the sleuthing Michael. As you pointed out, that could have been a huge bummer.

Thanks David!

I am SO glad I checked in here before starting new student projects next week!
I've have been playing with Pro v2 and hadn't found any bugs yet...
Thanks for the heads up Michael.

Yup, we're having to retranscode in a previous version of RCX because of this same issue, tape column only had "A" in it.

Redcine X v3 was released and fixes this problem.

Naming Problem in Transcode

Naming Problem in Transcode

I'm having a similar problem. This is with both version 2 and version 3. The name in the ALE file matches the original media file name but the transcoded media file that is being output from RCX has a completely different name. This seems to be the reason I can't get my Avid software to link the clips to the media. For example, red file name "A001_C002_1008O8" becomes MXF file name A001_C002V011AF7CEC1 but the clip name in the ALE is still "A001_C002_1008O8". And I'm unable to relink to the media. Is anybody else experiencing this? Or am I simply doing something wrong? Any advice would be much appreciated.

See response in your other thread. And if you haven't watched it already, you should:
http://tinyurl.com/29ue8mm

It will take you through all the different workflows for RED and Media Composer.
