My old college roommate Joe asked me to come over about a week ago to shoot a 2 page script he wrote for his UCB class.

Because I had to be at work, we literally shot this short in 30 minutes. Found a street corner, shot a master, and two cutaways.. All single takes.. I had one guy holding the mic..

I thought it turned out pretty funny considering our limitations

Enjoy!

Lol...that is some funny sh!t. Nice job. The audio sounded pretty good as well. Did you record straight into the camera? What mic did you use?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Omar

We plugged the mic right into the camera. It was a Sennheiser ME66. Nice mic for the Red.

That was very cool! It was a great film, and the camerawokr was very nice. Also, it looks beautiful, Congratulations!

My only comment would be that your full shot don't match the closeups that well, probably because the light changed, I'd bring some yellow to the skintones in that shot to compensate.

Still, very nice!

Cheers!

Great work. Seriously impressed you knocked it out in a half an hour. Ta hell with 24 hours - you've got a new filmmaking meme going on.

hi Richard . i can not imagin what you can do if you

on well prepared set with with enough staff working under your command .

Most of your posted footages has been made on a run . only you :umm: were doing

all that wonderfull stuff .. very good work

Richard what i really like in this short is you as real big Director

you have nice Framing , shot size ,you know how you move your actors and

very nice camera movement , nice editing ,,.and what ealse can i say :whistling: again it is Fantastic .

Btw what was your mic ??

how did you step by step got your audio from the camera ?

This will sound odd.

This will sound odd.

But this is my favorite thing I've seen shot with the Red. Of course it's like the only narrative I've seen with a beginning, middle, and end so I guess that helps.

Which lens did you use? And what kind of color correction/grading did you do? And where did you get that pretty cool acoustic rendition of Plush?

Bassam, For the record I didn't edit it, the guy that doesn't have the beard, Joe Uhlarik, starred, cut & co-directed this. We used the Sennheiser ME66, powered by a AA battery. Mic was mounted to a broomstick and sent to the camera via XLR to mini-XLR, channel 1. Default settings and Mic Line In selected, build 14.

GvilleTV, we used the Red 18-50, and shot fully open using 3 stops of ND. Joe compressed proxies into Pro-Res and cut with that. I CC-ed the footage in Redcine and output 2k HQ files and relinked them to the timeline then we output and compressed into web h.264 files. The rendition of Plush was created by Yaggenhimen, a one-man band fronted by mastermind Bob Cillis, here are some of his links, http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=10598390

thanks dudes

for something so simple, I am not sure if I would have enjoyed it as much if it was shot with an HD camcorder. The RED just makes everything look a buttery million bucks.

Holy shit that was hilarious. You should upload that to facebook and see what kind of buzz it gets. :P

I've always said context is better for the content so- again- it's good to see something narrative.
